Well it's official, Kiana is an American citizen!
AND
Novita has a visa!
Both were stressful events, but I'm happy they're completed. So this means we'll be coming to America for the summer! We're all very relieved, excited, and ready to get out of here for a while. I haven't been back to the States since July 2002, so I'm sure I'll feel a bit of "reverse" culture shock.
If possible I'd like to show Novita much of America - I know it's not easy because it's such a huge place (considering the island of Java is about the size of Michigan) but I think it's important for her to experience as much as possible so she can feel what it's like to live there.
Kiana is rapidly changing - as you can see from the photos; she is most happy when she's sitting up at this point. She's amazingly long, although her mom is pretty tall! We even met a 5 month old baby that was half American - and was the same length. Everyone comments that she looks more "bule" than Indonesian - but I'd say she has plenty of the Asian features: big brown eyes, dark hair, and her skin is slightly darker than what a caucasian baby would be. She's absolutely amazing in every way and luckily sleeps through every single night without waking up at all.
I know so many people can't wait to see her - I'm sure it will be a wonderful "homecoming"!
